1. Preparation before installation
Check the installation reference surface: Before installing the ball spline, carefully inspect the installation reference surface. Ensure that the flatness of the reference surface meets the requirements, for example, for high-precision equipment, the flatness error of the reference surface should be controlled within 0.01mm. You can use a level or flatness measuring instrument to detect. -At the same time, it is necessary to clean the oil, dust, and impurities on the reference surface to ensure that it is clean and flat, providing a good foundation for the installation of the ball spline.
Prepare high-precision measuring tools: In order to accurately measure and adjust parallelism, suitable measuring tools need to be prepared. For example, a dial gauge is a commonly used tool with an accuracy of 0.001mm. Installing the dial gauge on a magnetic gauge holder facilitates measurement during the installation process. -In addition, tools such as rulers or optical straightedge meters can be prepared to assist in determining parallelism. These tools can help to observe the parallel relationship between the spline shaft and the reference plane more intuitively.
2. Parallel control methods during installation
Preliminary installation positioning: - Place the ball spline in the installation position as closely as possible to the reference surface. At this point, you can use the tactile sensation to preliminarily determine whether the spline shaft is roughly parallel to the reference surface. If there is a noticeable tilt, appropriate adjustments need to be made.
Measurement and adjustment of dial gauge: - Place the head of the dial gauge vertically in contact with the surface of the spline shaft, move the dial gauge along the length direction of the spline shaft, and measure the height difference at different positions. During the movement, ensure that the head of the dial gauge maintains stable contact with the surface of the spline shaft. -Adjust the position of the ball spline based on the reading of the dial gauge. If the reading at a certain position differs significantly from other positions, it indicates that the parallelism at that position does not meet the requirements. Fine adjustments can be made by adding shims or adjusting screws at the bottom or side of the spline seat to control the parallelism error between the spline shaft and the reference plane within the allowable range. For example, for ball splines with general precision requirements, the parallelism error can be controlled within 0.02mm/m; For high-precision requirements, the error should be controlled within 0.01mm/m.
Multi directional measurement and comprehensive adjustment: In addition to measuring parallelism along the length direction of the spline shaft, measurements also need to be taken from other directions. For example, measure the parallelism between the spline shaft and the vertical reference plane from the side. This can comprehensively evaluate the installation parallelism of the ball spline. -Based on the measurement results from multiple directions, adjust the position of the ball spline comprehensively. During the adjustment process, it is important to pay attention to the mutual influence of adjustments in various directions. It is necessary to repeatedly measure and adjust until the parallelism in all directions meets the requirements.
3. Inspection and verification after installation
Recheck parallelism: After installation, use a micrometer or other measuring tool to recheck the parallelism of the ball spline. Ensure that there is no change in parallelism during installation due to subsequent operations such as tightening set screws.
Dynamic testing verification: Conduct low-speed, low load dynamic testing during the initial stage of device operation. Observe the parallelism of the ball spline during movement and check for any abnormal vibration or jamming. If any problems are found, it is necessary to stop the machine in a timely manner for inspection and readjust the parallelism until the equipment operation requirements are met.
