1. Proper use of installation tools
Selection and use of measuring tools: When installing ball splines, high-precision measuring tools must be used to measure parallelism. For example, a dial gauge is a commonly used tool with an accuracy of up to 0.001mm. Before use, it is necessary to ensure that the dial gauge has been calibrated, and its head should be in contact perpendicular to the surface of the spline shaft to avoid measurement errors caused by improper contact angles. -For longer spline shafts, laser interferometers can be used to assist in measurement. It can measure the straightness and parallelism related parameters of the axis with extremely high accuracy (up to nanometer level). When using a laser interferometer, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating instructions to adjust the optical path and collect data, ensuring that the environmental conditions (such as temperature, humidity, and vibration) meet the requirements of the instrument.
Installation tool operation specifications: - When using a press to install splines, ensure even pressure. For small ball splines, the pressure should be controlled within an appropriate range (such as 2-5kN) to avoid deformation or installation tilt caused by excessive pressure. Pressure can be monitored through pressure sensors to ensure that pressure fluctuations are within ± 5%. -For installation tools with guiding devices, ensure that the guiding parts are clean and undamaged. For example, during the spline pressing process, the clearance between the guide column and the spline sleeve should be controlled between 0.02-0.05mm to ensure that the spline shaft accurately enters the spline sleeve and prevent tilting.
2. Standardize the operation of installation personnel
Pre installation training and guidance: Professional training for installation personnel is crucial. The training content includes the structural principle, installation process, and accuracy requirements of ball splines. Through theoretical explanations and practical demonstrations, enable installation personnel to become familiar with each installation step and precautions. -Provide a detailed installation manual, specifying the installation sequence, tool usage methods, and precision adjustment points. For example, it is stated in the manual that when installing the spline shaft and spline sleeve, cleaning and lubrication treatment should be carried out first, and then installation should be carried out according to the marked or locating pin alignment direction.
Key operating points during installation: - When placing the spline, ensure that the spline shaft is tightly attached to the reference surface. You can use a feeler gauge to check the fit gap, and the gap should be controlled below 0.03-0.05mm. If the gap is too large, the spline position needs to be readjusted. -When tightening the fixing screws, gradually tighten them diagonally. For example, for a rectangular distribution of four screws, tighten a pair of screws on the diagonal first, with a slight tightening degree, and then tighten the screw on the other diagonal. The torque for each tightening should be uniform. For M8-M12 screws, the torque can be controlled between 15-30N · m to avoid twisting the splines due to unilateral force. -When adjusting the position of the spline, measure the parallelism while adjusting. Use tools such as micrometers to monitor the adjustment effect in real time and make fine adjustments based on measurement data. After each adjustment, measure the parallelism again until it meets the required standard. Meanwhile, it is important to avoid excessive adjustments and prevent the introduction of new errors.
