Damage to the ball spline shaft, such as exceeding the originally estimated load, ineffective sealing, and insufficient clearance of the ball spline shaft caused by a tight fit. Any of these elements has its own unique damage pattern and will leave extra traces of damage. Therefore, by examining the damaged ball spline shaft, possible elements can be identified in most cases. Generally speaking, one-third of the damage to the ball spline shaft is due to fatigue damage, the remaining one-third is due to poor smoothness, and the remaining one-third is due to contamination entering the ball spline shaft or improper handling of the device. However, these types of damage are also related to the industry. For example, in the pulp and paper industry, most of the damage to ball spline shafts is caused by poor smoothness or contamination, rather than by data exhaustion. If the operation of the ball spline shaft shows abnormal phenomena, the factors should be identified and the faults should be eliminated in a timely manner. After a certain period of use, the ball spline shaft will always fail or be damaged. If the damage condition is analyzed and corresponding countermeasures are adopted, its service life and operational reliability can be improved, the number and cost of main engine maintenance can be reduced, and the service life of the main engine can be extended.
Let's summarize the elements of damage to ball spline shafts as follows:
1. Overload damage is often one of the main factors causing damage to the imported ball spline shaft when the device is well sealed. Overloading can cause premature fatigue of the ball spline shaft material and fragmentation and peeling of the outer layer material of the raceway. At the beginning, it occurs on a small area, but spreads rapidly. When continuously used, the phenomenon of fragmentation and peeling will expand to the outer surfaces of the inner and outer raceways and steel balls. Generally, damage caused by overload starts from the inner ring, and the trajectory of the steel ball on the raceway is particularly wide.
2. The damage caused by misalignment has a significant impact on the imported ball spline shaft. When the steel ball is not centered or perpendicular, it will squeeze into the edge of the raceway, causing the rolling trajectory of the steel ball to be skewed. Excessive skewness can cause damage to the persistence frame.
