With the innovation and reform of industrial manufacturing, it has had a significant impact on the recovery of China's economy. It has been learned from the World Machinery Automation Exhibition in recent years that four axis robotic arms and SCARA robots are becoming popular, and companies such as Dazu Yueming and Foxconn Group are adopting them. Faced with such a huge number, how can we ensure their quality?
We all know that in a four axis robotic arm, a type of element motion called "ball spline" is applied, which is a consumable product with a certain lifespan. So how should it be evaluated? Now let's listen to our technical engineers talk about how to predict the service life of ball splines. Those who are more concerned should take a look!
Firstly, rated lifespan
Even if the same batch of manufactured ball splines are used under the same motion conditions, their lifespan still has a certain degree of variability. Therefore, as a benchmark for calculating the lifespan of linear motion systems, the rated lifespan defined by the following lock is used. The rated lifespan is the total operating distance that can be achieved when a batch of identical linear motion systems move separately under the same conditions, with 90% of them not producing delamination (delamination on the metal surface).
Secondly, calculate the rated lifespan

The rated life of ball splines varies depending on the type of load they can withstand during operation, and can be divided into three types: torque load, radial load, and torque load.
Thirdly, calculate the average load
When using splines, the load during the stroke may vary, such as in the case of industrial robot rocker arms, which grab the workpiece for movement when moving forward and only have the weight of the rocker arm when moving backward, or in the case of machinery, when the load acting on the outer cylinder varies according to different conditions, the load variation conditions must be considered for life technology. The average load (Pm) refers to a certain load that has the same lifespan as the load acting on the outer cylinder under different operating conditions.
